With my energetic, sensitive, and enthusiastic demeanor, I seek to motivate and engage my students in teaching methods that reflect their unique and individual needs. As a life longer, I also yearn to consistently grow and evolve as an educator, by embracing new techniques and perspectives. With a focused and patient approach, I hope to evoke the same excitement and enthusiasm that my teachers have elicited from me.&nbsp;I have been fortunate to teach privately, as well as with nonprofits and private studios. I have also created and facilitated programming and educational visits with local schools. A previous resident with the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers Program, I was fortunate to introduce young composers to the piano, while workshopping and performing their compositions.&nbsp; In my University coursework, I have worked to create interactive classical music lessons that engage students in classical music, both by creating collaborative performances and broadening the definition of “classical” music. The program was first presented at PS8, The Emily Warren Roebling School, in Brooklyn, NY.&nbsp; I have also held a Teaching Fellowship at the Mannes School of Music, teaching piano to undergraduate music majors. Under Josh’s guidance , Connor has grown rapidly, performing his first recital flawlessly without looking at music sheets. Josh is extremely patient, positive, and effective in refocusing Connor’s attention during lessons.
